Day-7, Kingsized Playing Cards

07-08-2017

This day started off, once again, with the secret friend box. After yesterdays visit to Giethoorn, a lot of little gifts and souvenirs were handed out. This morning ritual was followed by the Human Invasion workshop. In this workshop the participants got devided into different discussion groups, all had the same situation to debate, but a different role assigned. The situation would be that a group of humans, fleeing from a destroyed world, came to seek refuge at an alien planet. Some of the aliens were against this migration, some were supportive. In the end, all the groups sent a representative to openly discuss and debate the matter, backed up by the facts and arguments gathered before. This workshop gave the participants a great insight on a few perspectives regarding migrants and refugees.

Shortly after this workshop finished, the building had a power out, this resulted in suspending the workshops for now and the participants going outside to socialize and play some games together. During the lunchbreak, Florian, Eva and Armand all volunteered to help the cleaning team to clean the bathrooms. The rest of the group was very thankful for this kind gesture and great initiative.

In the afternoon the group left for a free afternoon in Ede, where the participants got to show each other around, had time to do some shopping, and relax in the nice weather. In the meantime Salar and Hamid spent their time at the venue, preparing a real Iranian dinner for the rest of the group.

In the evening it was finally time for the special carnaval evening! Every one dressed up in their weirdest costumes to have a great time. Even some of the leaders joined in for the fun.
